KERAPCD RULE 609A EPISODE ACTION STAGE 1 (ALERT)

RULE 609A - Episode Action Stage 1 (Alert) - Adopted
1974, Amended 6/29/81, Renumber 5/89, Renumbered and Amended 8/19/91
I. Upon the declaration of this stage the Air Pollution Control Officer
shall take the following general action:
A. The notifications required by Rule 606 III.
B. Kern County Communications shall be requested to broadcast the "Notice
of Declaration" over the School Alert System, Kern Alert System, and
Law Enforcement Communication System.
C. Request the public to stop all unnecessary driving in the source
and receptor air basins.
D. Request the public to operate all privately-owned vehicles on a pool
basis in the affected source and receptor areas.
E. Request all employers to encourage employee car pools.
F. Prohibit the burning of a combustible refuse and agricultural waste
within the air basin.
G. Persons operating any facility named in Rule 613 shall implement the appropriate plans submitted in accordance with Rule 613.
