PLACER COUNTY AIR POLLUTION CONTROL DISTRICT
RULE 210 - SPECIFIC CONTAMINANTS

- A person shall not discharge into the atmosphere from any source of emissions whatsoever, any one or more of
the following contaminants, in any state or combination, therefore exceeding in concentration at point of discharge:
- Sulfur compounds, calculated as sulfur dioxide (SO2):
- 0.2 percent by volume for the Sacramento Valley and Mountain Counties Air Basin portions of the Placer County
Air Pollution Control District.
- 500 parts per million by volume for the Lake Tahoe Air Basin portion of the Placer County Air Pollution Control
District.
- Combustion Contaminants:
- Wood fired boilers and incinerators in the Sacramento Valley and Mountain Counties Air Basin portions of the
Placer County Air Pollution Control District: 0.2 grains per cubic foot of gas calculated to 12 percent carbon
dioxide (CO2) at standard conditions.
- All other combustion sources in the Sacramento Valley and Mountain Counties Air Basin portions of the Placer
County Air Pollution Control District and all combustion sources in the Lake Tahoe Air Basin portion of the District:
0.1 grains per cubic foot of gas calculated at 12 percent carbon dioxide (CO2) at standard conditions.
- Particulate matter emitted from a source in which exhaust gases from a combustion unit or process are used
to dry, calcine, pyrolyze, sinter, or otherwise condition (exclusive of combusting) any process material shall
be excluded from calculation as combustion contaminants.
