Standard Operating Procedures by Monitoring Organization

Pursuant to the Code of Federal Regulations (40 CFR 58 Appendix A, Section 3.1), all monitoring organizations within the Air Resources Board's (ARB) Primary Quality Assurance Organization (PQAO) are required to take one of the following actions for each air monitoring instrument they operate and report ambient air quality data :
- Adopt and follow ARB Standard Operating Procedures for each criteria pollutant, data reporting instrument, or program.
- Submit an alternative Standard Operating Procedure to the Quality Management Branch for review and approval.
For each monitoring organization (MO) and criteria pollutant monitoring category, one of the following will be displayed:
- NA - indicates the monitoring organization is not monitoring that parameter.
- ARB - Indicates that ARB's standard Operating Procedure (SOP) has been adopted and is being used for that parameter
- MO - Indicates that the MO is using a SOP that has been approved by ARB.
- Pending - Indicates that the MO has submitted a SOP to ARB for review and approval.
