Site Description
The pump station site
is located approximately ¼ mile west of highway 395 and Cabin Bar
Ranch. Approximately 5 miles east of the eastern Sierra
foothills. The location is easily accessible from 395, is
approximately 50-100 feet above grade, is fenced with barbed wire, and
has power readily available, although 440 VAC three phase. The
power pole, #M27009V, has three transformers attached to it, which
provides power to a pump station. The site has a 360° exposure
and is surrounded on all sides by rangeland. There were no
signs of vandalism or suspicious activities at the site.
The site would require
a power transformer and mounting brackets for the sampling equipment.
The brackets could be attached to the power pole. There is a
dirt road leading to the site which would provide the operator safe
access to park and to perform the filter changes and data retrieval
activities.
The site is either
owned by the City of Los Angeles’s Department of Water and Power, or
Anhauser-Busch.
