Database: California Air Quality Data - Selected Data Available for Download

The California Air Resources Board has released a new DVD-ROM in January 2009 entitled "2009 Air Quality Data DVD" with 28 years of air quality data (1980-2007). For a description of the DVD, go to "California Air Quality Data Available on DVD-ROM". We are providing files in various formats for hourly, daily, and annual data from 1980 to 2007 listed in the file documentation: file09dvd.pdf (pdf - 62k). If you would like to download these ASCII, Dbf, Comma-delimited, ACCESS 2003, or EXCEL files, proceed to the table below. The daily monitor-based PM10 and PM2.5 data are available in both comma-delimited and EXCEL format, and the hourly monitor-based PM10 and PM2.5 data are available in comma-delimited format except for PM10 local conditions (BAM10) which is also available in EXCEL format. Most of the hourly PM10 and PM2.5 files had more records in a year than EXCEL could display, so these EXCEL files were not provided. The product names listed on this page may be registered trademarks.
Errata: The observed contamination of heated samplers and sampler components show that historical acrylonitrile data collected by this method are suspect. The variability of contamination from sampler to sampler rules out the possibility of correcting data. The review of acrylonitrile sampling data has uncovered issues associated with the (sampling) methodology; therefore, the acrylonitrile data collected with the Xontech 910A and 910PC samplers have been deleted from the U.S.EPA Air Quality System, the 2009 Air Quality Data DVD download web page, and the ARB’s Aerometric Data Analysis and Management (ADAM) database.
After downloading each data file, double-click on the zipped executable file. The window for the Winzip Self-Extractor will appear: click on the "Browse " button to select the location for storing the file on your hard drive, then click on the "Unzip" button.
