TRU Compliance Extensions

The following applications in the table below are used to apply for extensions to the December 31, 2011 compliance deadline for specific circumstances as provided for in the 2011 Amendments of the TRU ATCM.  Both excel and pdf versions of the applications are available.  

The excel applications can only be submitted with all supporting documentation by e-mail to arber@arb.ca.gov.
The pdf applications can either be submitted with all supporting documentation by e-mail to arber@arb.ca.gov OR

Information submitted must be true, accurate, and complete.  Within 30 days of a change in ownership or compliance status, the new information must be entered in the ARBER system.  This includes updates to the company profile and primary contact information.  Failure to report updates or submittal of false information is a violation of state law subject to civil and criminal penalties.

Application for Compliance Extension for In-Use Performance Standards Based on Delays Due to Equipment Manufacture Delays, Installer Delays or Private Financing.  (Excel version)  (PDF version)

This application can be used for a one-time extension
of up to four (4) months for delays in compliance        
provided documentation for the delay and the application are submitted prior to December 31, 2011 for model year 2004. (See 13 CCR 2477.5 (l)).              

Application for Compliance Extension for In-Use Performance Standards Based on Unavailability of Compliance Technology. (Excel version) (PDF version)

This application can be used for a extension of one (1) year for unavailability of compliance technology provided documentation for the demonstrationand the application are submitted prior to December 31, 2011 for model year 2004.  (See 13 CCR 2477.5 (k)).   

Safe Passage for Noncompliant Equipment Traveling in California. (PDF version)

This application can be used for a safe passage permit
if the purpose for the TRU travelling in California
is to take the noncompliant TRU to a dealer or installer to bring the equipment into compliance.  The TRU shall not be operating in a noncompliant state in California and no temperature-sensitive products shall be transported in a vehicle with a noncompliant TRU.
