ARB Board Member Biographies
Ronald O. Loveridge
Appointed August 2004 by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger
Mr. Loveridge of Riverside County has served on the South Coast Air Quality Management District since 1995 and has served as the Mayor of the City of Riverside since 1994. Previously he was a member of the Riverside City Council from 1979 to 1994 and is currently an associate professor in political science at the University of California, Riverside, where he has taught since 1965. Active in the League of California Cities, he is the immediate Past President of the League. He is a member of the Regional Council of the Southern California Association of Governments. In 1996 the American Lung Association honored the Mayor for his leadership in protecting public health from air pollution. He has been honored by such organizations as the American Planning Association and the California Preservation Foundation. Mayor Loveridge earned his bachelor's degree from the University of the Pacific and master's degree and doctorate in political science from Stanford University.
