Public Meeting to Consider Approval of the Proposed State Implementation Plan Revision for the Federal Lead Standard

Staff will present to the Board for approval a proposed State Implementation Plan (SIP) revision that provides for attaining the federal lead standard in the Los Angeles County nonattainment area.  The SIP was adopted by the South Coast Air Quality Management District on May 4, 2012.  Lead concentrations have been below the level of the federal standard since December 2011.

Public Meeting to Hear an Informational Item on Short-Lived Climate Pollutants  
Staff will present an overview of the contribution of short-lived climate pollutants to global greenhouse gases and California actions to reduce these pollutants.  A panel of climate change experts will update the Board on the latest scientific research findings on the potential impacts of reducing short-lived climate pollutants.

12-3-3 Public Meeting to Present the 2011 Haagen-Smit Clean Air Awards
Recipients of the 2011 Haagen-Smit Clean Air Awards will be announced.  The Board annually presents the Haagen-Smit Clean Air Awards to individuals in the air quality community who have made significant contributions toward improving air quality and public health.
