98-2-1 | Public Meeting to Consider an Informational Report on Air Quality
Trends
Air Resources Board (ARB) staff will present trends in California air quality for ozone, particulate matter, and other pollutants. There have been significant reductions in pollutant levels over the past decade in many areas of the State, but more improvements are needed in order to attain State and national air quality standards. |
98-2-2 | Public Meeting to Consider a Summary of the 1998 Regulatory Rulemaking
Calendar
Staff will review the 1998 Rulemaking Calendar with information relating to implementation of the 1994 Ozone SIP. |
98-2-3 | Public Hearing to Consider Approval of a Revision to the California
State Implementation Plan
Staff is proposing to withdraw measure M-7, Accelerated Retirement of Heavy-Duty Vehicles, from the State Implementation Plan(SIP). Staff also proposes to submit a new commitment, measure M-17, Additional Emission Reductions from Heavy-Duty Vehicles, to ensure the SIP continues to fulfill Clean Air Act requirements. Under M-17, ARB will explore a number of options, including increased in-use compliance programs and additional market-based incentives for heavy-duty vehicles. |
98-2-4 | Public Meeting to Consider an Overview of the Office of Legislative
and Intergovernmental Affairs
Staff will give a presentation on the mission of the Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs office and a recap of the 1997 legislative year. |
Open Session to Provide an Opportunity for Members of the Public to Address the Board on Subject Matters Within the Jurisdiction of the Board
Although no formal Board action may be taken, the Board is allowing an opportunity to interested members of the public to address the Board on items of interest that are within the Board’s jurisdiction, but that do not specifically appear on the agenda. Each person will be allowed a maximum of five minutes to ensure that everyone has a chance to speak.
