01-4-1 Public Meeting to Consider an Informational Update on Children's Health and Exposure Research

Staff will report on the status of the ARB's research activities to study children's exposure to and health effects from air pollution. These research activities play a major role in the ARB's Community Health Program, Children's Environmental Health Protection Program (SB 25), and the Indoor Air Quality Program. These studies will allow the ARB to more accurately assess children's exposures, their health impacts, and appropriate actions to reduce children's health risks.

01-4-2 Public Meeting to Consider an Update on Enforcement Activities

Staff will update the Board on the enforcement activities of the ARB. To ensure that air quality statutes and rules achieve the intended emission reductions they must be effectively implemented. To this end, the ARB implements a thorough enforcement program of field inspections and special investigations. This report covers the 1999-2000 and the first half of the 2000-2001 fiscal years.

01-4-3 Public Meeting on Community Health and the Impacts of Phase 3 Reformulated Gasoline

Staff will present the health effects of air pollution, the assessment of public health risks in California's communities, the development of strategies for reducing public health risk, and the impacts of the Phase 3 Reformulated Gasoline regulations on air quality and the cost of gasoline.

OPEN SESSION TO PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC TO ADDRESS THE BOARD ON SUBJECT MATTERS WITHIN THE JURISDICTION OF THE BOARD

This Board meeting will provide a forum where the public can discuss air quality issues in their communities directly with Board members.

Although no formal Board action may be taken, the Board is allowing an opportunity to interested members of the public to address the Board on items of interest that are within the Board's jurisdiction, but that do not specifically appear on the agenda.
