2023 Mid-Year Data Update
Released September 2023
From December 2022 through the end of May 2023, California Climate Investments programs implemented nearly $511 million through 7,326 projects that are expected to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 3.3 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (MMTCO2e) over project lifetimes. Over 84%, or $436 million in implemented funds from this period are benefiting priority populations.
Since the first appropriations to California Climate Investments programs were made in 2014, 569,477 projects supported by $9.8 billion in implemented funds are expected to reduce an estimated 98.0 MMTCO2e.
2023 Annual Report

From December 2021 – November 2022, California Climate Investments programs implemented nearly $1.3 billion, in addition to $1.3 billion in expenditures by the High-Speed Rail Project, bringing the cumulative total to $9.3 billion.
