Energy Efficiency and Co-Benefits Assessment Regulation Reporting Requirements:

The Energy Efficiency and Co-Benefits Assessment of Large Industrial Facilities Regulation (Energy Efficiency Assessment Regulation), effective on July 22, 2010, includes requirements for facilities whose 2009 greenhourse gas (GHG) emissions totaled 0.5 million metric tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (MMTCO2e) or more, and cement plants and transportation fuel refineries that emitted GHG emissions of at least 0.25 MMTCO2e in 2009. Facilities subject to the regulation are required to conduct a one-time assessment of the facility's fuel and energy cosumption, greenhouse gas emissions, criteria pollutants, and toxic air contaminants. This assessment must also include the identification of potential energy efficiency improvement projects for equipment, processes, or systems that cumulatively account for at least 95 percent of the facility's total greenhouse gas emissions.

Reporting Forms:

All facilities subject to the regulation must file an assessment report by December 15, 2011. Reporting forms are available to assist facility operators in complying with the reporting requirements of the Energy Efficiency Assessment Regulation. Use of these forms is voluntary and the forms may be modified to accommodate specific needs. Modified versionsof these forms will be made available on this website.
