Archived U.S. EPA SmartWay Verified Low Rolling Resistance Tires
This page last reviewed October 2, 2012
Tractors and trailers subject to California's Tractor-Trailer Greenhouse Gas Regulation must use low rolling resistance tires that meet the requirements of the U.S. EPA SmartWay program. The specific tire models currently verified by SmartWay can be found at the SmartWay Verified Technology Program webpage. Below is the list of archived tire models (not found at the SmartWay webpage) that were verified as part of a set and no longer meet the current SmartWay program rolling resistance target values. The archived tire models were removed from the list of SmartWay verified models as of March 6, 2011.
Archived tire models manufactured prior to March 6, 2011, as indicated by a DOT date code of 0911 or earlier, are still considered verified tire models and can still be used to meet the requirements of the Tractor-Trailer Greenhouse Gas Regulation regulation.
Archived tire models with a DOT date code of 1011 or later cannot be used to meet the requirements of the Tractor-Trailer Greenhouse Gas Regulation regulation.
