The 2006 Survey -- How to Take the Survey
The Air Resources Board (ARB) conducted a survey
of consumer and commercial products and aerosol coating products that
were sold with intention for use in California during Calendar Year
2006. This survey represents part of ARB's effort to evaluate the
feasibility of further reducing volatile organic compound (VOC),
reactive organic compound (ROC), and/or greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions
from consumer products and update our emissions inventory.
The following instructions were sent in 2007 to companies participating in the 2006 Survey:
You must return the attached "Preliminary Form" to ARB as soon as
possible, but no later than Tuesday, August 14th.
This
form, along with the additional enclosed pages, will help you determine
if it is necessary for you to complete the additional survey forms and
will also help ARB track receipt of this packet. The completed survey
forms (1-4) must be postmarked no later than November
21, 2007.
Electronic Version of the Survey
An
interactive electronic version of the survey is being offered to assist
you in filling out the forms. Contact Trish Johnson, see below, to
request a CD.
Survey Training
To assist you in completing the survey, we will be conducting a webcast
survey training session on Thursday, August 30, 2007 at 10 am Pacific
time, from the Sierra Hearing Room of the Cal/EPA Headquarters Building
in Sacramento, California. The training is intended for the people who
will be completing the survey forms. It will be helpful for viewers to
have a copy of the survey forms and "Getting Ready to Complete the
Forms" (available below) on-hand during the training session.
The training will be webcast at the following URL: http://www.calepa.ca.gov/broadcast/?BDO=1 During the session questions can be emailed to csmrprod@arb.ca.gov.
Please
note, we plan to record the training and make electronic copies
available for those who request it. Contact Trish Johnson at
to request the video of this training.
Chemical Abstract Service (CAS) List
Individuals completing FORM 4 (ingredient information) should obtain
CAS numbers from their supplier(s), however we are providing the CAS
list used in the 2001 Survey for reference purposes. Before referring
to these CAS numbers, please note the provisions at the beginning of
