The California Air
Resources Board (ARB) conducted a survey for Aerosol Coating and
Aerosol Adhesive Products to obtain sales and formulation data for
calendar year 2010 or
the most recent consecutive twelve-month period for which data were
available. The information updated the data we received from the 2003
and 2006 Consumer and Commercial Products Survey. Information about the
survey can be reviewed at the following link: Preliminary Results of the 2010 Aerosol Coating and Aerosol Adhesive Products Survey Preliminary results listing the products reported in each category (Table 1) as well as a summary of the reactive organic compounds (ROC) used in each category (Table 2) were released September 2, 2011. These results are provided below along with additional preliminary results of total sales and emissions (Table 3) and sales-weighted average estimates of the product maximum incremental reactivity (MIR) for each category (Table 4). Note: Some categories were grouped to maintain the confidentiality of the data. For Aerosol Coatings: Reported California sales of approximately 40 tons per day of Aerosol Coating products resulted in ROC emissions of about 30 tons per day. For Aerosol Adhesives: Reported California sales of approximately 2 tons per day of Aerosol Adhesive products resulted in ROC emissions of about 1.3 tons per day. All sales data were adjusted to account for complete market coverage. Data released on February 2, 2012Staff considered and incorporated industry’s comments on the preliminary results released in September 2011, and made changes to the dataset where appropriate. The preliminary results presented in Table 3 and Table 4 below reflect those changes. The preliminary results released on September 2, 2011 have not been updated. Note: The total ozone formation and sales weighted average reactivity values were calculated for both the 2001 MIR values and the 2010 MIR values. Aerosol Adhesives: To maintain confidentiality, results for the following 5 Aerosol Adhesive categories were aggregated and presented as Grouped Categories in Table 3 and Table 4:
Table 3 Total Sales and Emissions by Category Table 4 Reactivity Summary by Category Aerosol Coatings: To maintain confidentiality, results for the following 32 Aerosol Coating categories were aggregated and presented as Grouped Categories in Table 3 and Table 4 :

Table A - List of All Responding Companies Category Data Table 1 and Table 2 are provided for each survey category. Each table is displayed in PDF format. Table 1 - Reported Products.Table 2 - Reactive Organic Compound (ROC) Ingredients by Category. ROCs listed in these tables comprise approximately 95% of the total ROCs by weight for this category. To maintain confidentiality, ROCs data for the following 6 Aerosol Adhesive categories were aggregated:
To maintain confidentiality, ROCs data for the following 26 Aerosol Coating categories were aggregated:
