Mission Statement
To facilitate the ARB's verification of retrofit technology for existing diesel vehicles and equipment in California by sharing information, experience and expertise and to promote retrofitting by developing in-use fleet demonstration programs of various retrofit technologies.
Workgroup Objectives
- To encourage
manufacturers of retrofit devices to participate in the verification
and demonstration programs.
- To assist in
developing and facilitating specific demonstration programs with
the emphasis on identifying on-road and off-road vehicle and /
or engine types that have not, so far, been retrofitted.
- To assist in
identifying unusual vehicle and / or engine operating modes in various
vehicle / equipment fleet types that would present a technical
challenge to retrofit PM trap effectiveness and durability,
and thus should receive special emphasis in demonstration
programs.
- To enhance the communication between manufacturers of retrofit devices, engine
and equipment manufacturers, and end-users regarding technical
concerns and solutions
- To openly share test
data from all demonstration programs as well as
non
proprietary technical data provided by manufacturer workgroup members.
