To facilitate the ARB's verification of retrofit technology for existing diesel vehicles and equipment in California by sharing information, experience and expertise and to promote retrofitting by developing in-use fleet demonstration programs of various retrofit technologies.

• To encourage manufacturers of retrofit devices to participate in the verification and demonstration programs.
  
  
• To assist in developing and facilitating specific demonstration programs with the emphasis on identifying on-road and off-road vehicle and / or engine types that have not, so far, been retrofitted.
  
  
• To assist in identifying unusual vehicle and / or engine operating modes in various vehicle / equipment fleet types that would present a technical challenge to retrofit PM trap effectiveness and durability, and thus should receive special emphasis in demonstration programs.
  
  
• To enhance the communication between manufacturers of retrofit devices, engine and equipment manufacturers, and end-users regarding technical concerns and solutions
  
  
• To openly share test data from all demonstration programs as well as non proprietary technical data provided by manufacturer workgroup members.
