The Air Resources Board has verified the Cleaire LongMile diesel retrofit system for certain 1993 through 2006 model year on-road heavy-duty diesel engines used in on-road heavy-duty vehicles.  The LongMile reduces emissions of diesel particulate matter by at least 85 percent and complies with both the 2009 limit on emissions of nitrogen dioxide and the unidirectional design requirements.  As such, it is designated as a Level 3 Plus system.  The primary components of the LongMile include a diesel oxidation catalyst, a non-catalyzed sintered metal diesel particulate filter, an electronic control system, and a backpressure monitor. The LongMile system is compatible with on-road vehicles using diesel fuel that contains up to 20 percent biodiesel.  Specific conditions for which the LongMile system has been approved may be found in the Executive Order below.
