The Air Resources Board has verified the reformulated Cleaire Longview diesel retrofit system for certain 1993 through 2006 model year heavy-duty diesel engines in on-road vehicles. The Longview reduces emissions of diesel particulate matter by at least 85 percent and complies with both the 2009 limit on emissions of nitrogen dioxide and the unidirectional design requirements that are effective January 1, 2010.  As such, it is designated as a Level 3 Plus system. The Longview also reduces emissions of oxides of nitrogen (NOx) by 25 percent. The primary components of the Longview include a catalyzed silicon carbide wall-flow filter and a lean NOx catalyst. The Longview system is compatible with on-road vehicles using diesel fuel that contains up to 20 percent biodiesel. Specific conditions for which the Longview system has been approved may be found in the Executive Orders below.
