The Air Resources Board has verified ESW Technologies' (formerly ESW Canada) ThermaCat™ diesel retrofit system for certain 1996 through 2010 model year heavy-duty diesel engines used in off-road vehicles and certain 1993-2006 model year heavy-duty diesel engines used in on-road vehicles. The ThermaCat™ system reduces emissions of diesel particulate matter by at least 85 percent and is designated as a Level 3 plus system. The primary components of the actively regenerated ThermaCat™ system include a silicon carbide wall-flow filter, a diesel oxidation catalyst and a system controller. The ThermaCat™ systems are compatible with on-road and off-road vehicles using diesel fuel that contains up to 20 percent biodiesel. Specific conditions for which the ThermaCat ™ system has been approved may be found in the Executive Orders below.
