The Air Resources Board has verified ESW Canada’s ThermaCat TM diesel retrofit system for certain 1996 through 2010 model year heavy-duty diesel engines used in off-road vehicles and certain 1993-2006 model year heavy-duty diesel engines used in on-road vehicles. The ThermaCat TM system reduces emissions of diesel particulate matter by at least 85 percent and is designated as a Level 3 plus system. The primary components of the actively regenerated ThermaCat™ system include a silicon carbide wall-flow filter, a diesel oxidation catalyst and a system controller. The ThermaCat TM system is compatible with off-road vehicles using diesel fuel that contains up to 20 percent biodiesel. Specific conditions for which the ThermaCat TM system has been approved may be found in the Executive Orders below.
