The Air Resources Board has verified the Johnson Matthey Advanced Catalyzed Continuously Regenerating Technology (AdvCCRT) system for select 2002 through 2006 model year heavy-duty diesel engines used in on-road applications to include applications with an average temperature profile greater than 230 degrees Celsius for 40 percent of the operating cycle. The AdvCCRT system reduces emissions of diesel particulate matter by at least 85 percent and is designated as a Level 3 Plus system. The primary components of the AdvCCRT include a diesel oxidation catalyst, a catalyzed diesel particulate filter, a diesel fuel injection system, a nitrogen dioxide decomposition catalyst, and a back pressure monitor. Specific engine families and conditions for which the AdvCCRT system has been approved may be found in the Executive Order below.
