  Solvent Evaporation / Agricultural/Structural Pesticides

EMISSION INVENTORY CODES (CES CODES) AND DESCRIPTION

  530-530-3225-0000 (83550) Agricultural Pesticides - Methyl Bromide
  530-530-5702-0000 (83568) Agricultural Pesticides - Non-Methyl Bromide
  530-540-3225-0000 (83576) Structural Pesticides - Methyl Bromide
  530-540-5702-0000 (83584) Structural Pesticides - Non-Methyl Bromide

METHOD SUMMARY

This category includes estimates of volatile organic compound (TOG/ROG) emissions from pesticide application. Generally, estimated emissions are calculated as pounds of product applied (taken from an annual pesticide use report (PUR)) times an emission potential (EP) for the product applied. Emission potentials come from (a) registrants who follow a protocol for thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA), (b) calculations performed by California Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) chemists, or (c) a default value equal to the median TGA-based EP in each formulation category.

ACTIVITY DATA SOURCE:  Activity data is based on the data in the PUR database.

EMISSION FACTOR SOURCE:  EP values were assigned to specific pesticides. Emissions were calculated by applying EP values to the amount of reported pesticide application.

TEMPORAL DATA:  Activity data is based on reported application dates in the PUR database.

DATE OF THE LAST UPDATE:  May 2005
