ATLANTIC EXPRESS CASE SETTLEMENT FOR $105,000

Atlantic Express will pay $80,000 in penalties to the California Air Pollution Control Fund and will also do a special environmental project worth $25,000, for violating air quality regulations. This settlement was reached in May 2007. An investigation by the ARB showed that Atlantic Express failed to properly selfinspect the portion of their diesel engine vehicles fleet that falls under the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP). To settle the case, Atlantic Express 14 agreed to the $80,000 penalty, a special environmental project worth $25,000 and to comply with the PSIP.
