Beluga Fleet Management has paid $53,000.00 in penalties to the California Air Pollution Control Fund for violating air quality regulations. This settlement was reached on February 14, 2011, and payment was received March 7, 2011. An investigation by the ARB showed that the Beluga Fleet Management vessel, Beluga Recognition, failed to properly complete switchover for its main engines from Heavy Fuel Oil over to Low-Sulfur Distillate Fuel upon entry into Regulated California Waters. To settle the case, Beluga Fleet Management agreed to the $53,000.00 penalty and to comply with ARB regulations.
