Between January 2009 and August 2011, Certol International supplied their Remover Magic Graffiti Remover to California that contained VOCs in excess of the 30% limit for Graffiti Removers. Due to incorrect independent laboratory analysis of the product formulation the product was supplied to California with a formula that did not meet the category limit. Approximately 1.03 tons of excess emissions resulted from the violation. The case was settled on June 19, 2012 for $6,800.
