Cyprus Maritime Company Ltd. Case Settles for $3,000

Cyprus Maritime Company Ltd. has paid $3,000.00 in penalties to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, for violating air quality regulations.  This settlement was reached on April 18, 2011; payment received May 5, 2011.  An investigation by the ARB showed that the Cyprus Maritime Company Ltd. vessel, Panamax Ride, failed to properly complete switchover for its engines from Heavy Fuel Oil over to Low-Sulfur Distillate Fuel before entry into Regulated California Waters.  To settle the case, Cyprus Maritime Company Ltd. agreed to the $3,000.00 penalty and to comply with ARB regulations.
