Deomar Schiffahrts GmbH & Co KG Case Settles for $1,500

Deomar Schiffahrts GmbH & Co KG has paid $1,500.00 in penalties to the California Air Pollution Control Fund for violating air quality regulations. This settlement was reached on March 24, 2011. An investigation by the ARB showed that the Deomar Schiffahrts GmbH vessel, MSC England, failed to properly complete switchover for its engines from Heavy Fuel Oil over to Low-Sulfur Distillate Fuel before entry into RCW. To settle the case, Deomar Schiffahrts GmbH & Co KG agreed to the $1,500.00 penalty and to comply with ARB regulations.
