Hanjin Shipping Ltd. Case Settles for $3,000

Hanjin Shipping Ltd. will pay $3,000 in penalties to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, for violating air quality regulations. This settlement was reached on October 4, 2010. An investigation by the ARB showed that the Hanjin Shipping Ltd. vessel, Hanjin Paris, failed to properly complete switchover from Heavy Fuel Oil over to Low-Sulfur Distillate Fuel outside of Regulated California Waters. To settle the case, Hanjin Shipping Ltd. agreed to the $3,000 penalty and to comply with ARB regulations.
