In July 2011, Larry’s Tree Care, Inc. agreed to pay $5,000 in penalties; $3,750 to the California Air Pollution Control Fund and $1,250 to Peralta Community College District, for violating air quality regulations. An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Larry’s Tree Care, Inc. failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP). To settle the case, Larry’s Tree Care, Inc. agreed to the $5,000 penalty and to comply with the PSIP and other ARB programs.
