MS King Brian Schiffahrts GmbH & Co. KG Case Settles for $1,000

MS King Brian Schiffahrts GmbH & Co. KG has paid $1,000.00 in penalties to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, for violating air quality regulations. This settlement was reached on March 24, 2011; payment received May 6, 2011. An investigation by the ARB showed that the MS King Brian Schiffahrts GmbH & Co. KG vessel, King Brian, failed to properly complete switchover for its engines from Heavy Fuel Oil over to Low-Sulfur Distillate Fuel before entry into Regulated California Waters. To settle the case, MS King Brian Schiffahrts GmbH & Co. KG agreed to the $1,000.00 penalty and to comply with ARB regulations.
