NEW BERN TRANSPORT CORPORATION CASE SETTLES FOR $280,125 |
| In March, 2008, New Bern Transport Corporation
agreed to pay $280,125 in penalties: $210,094 to the California Air
Pollution Fund and $70,031 to the Peralta Community College District,
for violating air quality regulations. An investigation by
ARB showed that New Bern Transport Corporation failed to properly
self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke
emission standards. ARB inspectors documented violations as they
related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSI). To settle the
case, New Bern Transport Corporation agreed to pay the $280,125 penalty
and to comply with PSI and other ARB programs. |
