PACIFIC
TANK LINES CASE SETTLES FOR $1,000
|
| On
May 29, 2007,
ConocoPhillips reported that a Pacific Tank Lines driver had begun to
load a
volume of regular gasoline at their Colton
terminal, but aborted the load before any ethanol had been added. Instead of following
terminal guidelines that
would have prevented him leaving the terminal with the unoxygenated
gasoline,
he filled two more compartments with correctly oxygenated gasoline and
used
those bills of lading to exit the terminal.
He then delivered the unoxygenated gasoline to a California
service station. The
case was settled on April 3, 2008 for
$1,000. |
