SOUTHLAND PAVING, INC CASE SETTLES FOR $7,879 |
| Southland Paving Inc. paid $7,879 in penalties
[$5,909 to the California Air Pollution Control Fund and $1,970 to the
Peralta Community College District for distribution to participating
California Council on Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) colleges]
for violating air quality regulations. This case was closed in March
2008. An investigation by the ARB showed that Southland
Paving, Inc. failed to properly self-inspect the portion of their
diesel-powered vehicle fleet that falls under the Periodic Smoke
Inspection Program (PSIP). To settle the case, Southland Paving, Inc.
agreed to pay the $7,879 penalty and to comply with PSIP. |
