Stater Bros. Markets paid $19,000 in penalties for violating air quality regulations. This case was closed in November 2006. An investigation by the ARB showed that Stater Bros. Markets failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. ARB documented violations of the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP).
