On September 29, 2010, William Schwartz Marketing, Inc. settled a case involving the importation of un-certified Special Value Instant Light Charcoal for $4,000. The product also was not marked with the date of manufacture. Additionally, the South Coast Air Quality Management District has a similar certification process for “Charcoal Lighter Material.”
