This listing of smoke meter manufacturers is provided as a courtesy by the ARB to the regulated industry. This list is subject to change and the ARB is not responsible as to the accuracy of this information. The posting of this listing does not constitute an endorsement of these products or certification that this equipment complies with the specifications of SAE J1667. SAE is developing a test program for testing SAE J1667 smoke meters for compliance with specifications.

*These manufacturers participated in a Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) smoke meter correlation study in 1996. Participation in this study as denoted by the asterisk does not signify that the products available from these manufacturers have been certified by the SAE or the Air Resources Board. Nor does the denotation by the asterisk signify endorsement by the Air Resources Board of any manufacturer's products.

The following smoke meter manufacturers have provided notarized declarations, stating that their meters meet the SAE J1667 specifications. Copies of these declarations are available upon request and also can be viewed in the table below. Parties interested in purchasing this equipment are encouraged to establish for themselves which equipment is most appropriate for their application and attend a CCDET training class.
