Cleaner Technology

To satisfy air pollution regulations manufacturers have to develop cleaner technologies: products and ways of making products that pollute less. For example, today's carsare about 95% less polluting than new cars in 1970.

The battery-powered electric vehicle shown here is an example of zero emission vehicles (vehicles that don't emit any air pollutants) that are being produced as a result of California's air pollution regulations.
