Comment | Sep 7, 2010 Chairperson Mary Nichols P.O. Box 2815 Sacramento, CA 95812 Dear Chairperson Nichols, I urge the California Air Resources Board to pursue strong, vigorous implementation of the Sustainable Communities and Climate Protection Act (SB 375). This law will help improve local economies, reduce our infrastructure costs and create jobs while also reducing air and global warming pollution. The board can demonstrate strong leadership and ensure the law reaches its full potential in two ways: 1. Establish ambitious regional global warming pollution reduction targets. 2. Exercise your full powers to identify and support financial resources that cities and towns can use for planning and other activities that meet the goals of SB 375. I urge the board to adopt ambitious targets for California to meet the goals of the legislation, including reducing traffic and chronic illness; making our communities healthier and more competitive; and confirming California leadership on issues of growth, sustainability, public health and overall livability. Please exercise your full power to secure funding for implementation of this landmark law. Sincerely, Ms. Kellie Cutrer 1314 2nd St Santa Monica, CA 90401-1103 |
