Subject | Clean air, bikeable communities, SB 375 |
Comment | Dear Chair Nichols and Air Resource Board Members, Clean Air is vitally important to our health, and I believe that by the appropriate enforcement of SB 375, we will see a reduction in greenhouse gas(GHG) emission and more sustainable communities and transportation choices. As a person who values walkable and bikeable communities, accessible alternative transportation, and clean air, I urge you to adopt only GHG emission reduction targets that are ambitious and achievable. It would be a joy for me if I can spend less time on the freeways, save money on gas, and have more time with my children. These things can easily be achieved through compact community planning and affordable housing close to work, school, and community centers. BUT THIS DOES NOT MEAN JUST BUILDING MORE DENSE HOUSING, BUT REALLY ADDRESSING SUSTAINABILITY BY HAVING GREEN PARKS, AND BIKE PATHS, ETC. TO MITIGATE AS NECESSARY, ALONG WITH BETTER STORMDRAIN AND WATER CONSERVATION MANAGEMENT, ETC. In your upcoming meeting, please vote for ambitious GHG emission reduction targets, and achievable sustainble community plans. Thank you for all your hard work and for the opportunity |
