SubjectCap and Trade Tax is not proven science
Comment
California today faces high unemployment hovering around 12%,
budget deficits and an exodus of jobs from our state.

CARB itself estimates that cap and trade, if implemented,
represents a $150 billion energy tax. Our struggling economy most
certainly cannot afford more lost jobs due to a crushing
self-imposed energy tax of this magnitude.

The stated objective of the cap and trade program is to "show
leadership in the fight against global warming." However, other
states recognize that a costly cap and trade scheme is a bad idea,
especially right now. That's why the last US state still set to
join with California in implementing cap and trade, New Mexico,
backed out of the plan last November.

The possibility that you could force more taxes on already
struggling businesses is beyond common sense. You force companies
to go to other business friendly states leaving the tax base in
California dwindling while those who pay taxes are expected to make
up the difference. You should try working in the private sector or
better yet try getting a job in the private sector.

When I hear that your group makes over $80,000 a year with no
restrictions on expanding your employment positions, it makes me
absolutely furious when cuts are proposed for teachers, firemen,
police and libraries. In addition to cap and trade being a hoax,
your very board is a smoke screen robbing the ignorant Californians
of tax dollars that could be better spend.
