I wish to express my appreciation that the state is working to
reduce the air pollution and global warming emissions that is so
harmful to our public health and the environment. The proposed cap
on greenhouse gas emissions and related market-based mechanisms
will do much to move our state forward and lead the nation in
reducing GHG emissions. With this in mind, I feel that all
polluters should be treated equally based on their emissions or
lack thereof, so rather than giving permits away to some as
proposed, I recommend that they all pay their fair share or
innovate. These new regulations will create jobs in the renewable
energy sector that cannot be outsourced - and I hope the proposed
measures will be fully adopted and strengthened.
