I am very proud to live in the state that is doing more than any
other to combat global warming and climate change. Thanks for what
you are helping us get done!

However, the situation we are in is far worse than almost anyone
realizes. I have been studying the latest science for the past few
years, and it just keeps looking more and more gloomy. We are in a
far worse state than the 2007 IPCC report indicated, and that was
more than bad enough. We must do everything we possibly can, and as
soon as possible, if we want to have any chance of avoiding
horrendous catastrophes in the coming decades and centuries.

One thing that you could do right now is make the emitters of
greenhouse gases pay for their permits in an auction instead of
getting them for free. If they don't have to pay, they have no
incentive to reduce emissions quickly. It's as simple as that. And
we can't wait another day, much less years, before making the huge
changes that we must make.
