You make California proud as you develop plans to reduce global warming pollution, and make California a healthier place to live as well as more prosperous due to green jobs creation --and cash for pollution permits. Please establish a stronger market price on these emissions from the state’s largest polluters. I applaud your plan to set a steady minimum price for emissions, which will encourage businesses to make long-term investments in strategies to reduce global warming emissions. Please require more of the state’s largest polluters to pay (buy permits) for their global warming emissions, instead of giving permits away for free. Our air is too valuable to pollute for free! You could apply these funds to help lower energy costs for Californians—such as making homes and businesses more energy efficient, increasing public transit options, and developing wind and solar projects in California. |
