Ladies and Gentlemen:

As a vote on the abovementioned matter is scheduled for later this
month, please allow me to urge you to consider imposing stricter,
rather than looser, regulations on ALL diesel vehicles, not just
those used in the construction industry. This type of engine spews
a disproportionate amount of particulate matter into our air,
matter that when breathed does significant harm to the lungs of
the citizenry.

The engineers at the German car maker Audi have developed
technology that permits diesel engines to run virtually
polution-free, and I urge you to investigate such technology as a
way to protect the populace from the menace presented by diesel
engine particulates. Please make the restrictions tighter to help
save lives. Thank you for your time and consideration.
