We strongly support the formation of requirements that all diesel
emissions in CA be reduced and regulated.  We know the harm these
chemicals and particulates cause to humans.  You have a real
opportunity, now, to regulate construction equipment.  
Please lead the nation, once again in protecting our air and our
health.  After market devices are available, but are not being
utilized to assauge this problem.  Cleaner vehicles could be
built, but you can bet they won't be - if you don't enact tough
standars.  Standards are only as good as they are enforced, so
let's also make sure there is considerable thought put into
implementing and enfoucing these new regulations.  San Diego
County, where I live continues to struggle with particulates and
has remained in a state of non-attainment for far too long.  These
new regulations would help to remedy that situation.  Go after
trucks too, with the new ones coming over from Mexico, they will
enter our country with gas that is not reformulated, as it is CA
for cleaner air, this too will burden our county, and add to the
particulate load, making attainment even harder.
