| Comment | Because construction equipment is the second largest source of diesel pollution in the state, accounting for 20% of particulate matter (soot) and 16% of smog-forming Nitrogen Oxides (NOx), I hereby recommend adoption of proposed regulations on emissions from such vehicles. Exposure to smog can have serious effects on respiratory health. The reduction of pollution will have an enormous positive effect on the health of California's citizens. |
