Subject | Proposed Regulation for In-Use Off-Road Diesel Vehicles |
Comment | I lost a brother to lung disease so I am particularly interested in this pending regulation. Construction equipment is the second largest source of diesel pollution in the state. Diesel pollution has a real impact on public health in California and throughout the country. I know from personal experience with my brother how exposure to smog can have serious effects on respiratory health. Particulate air pollution or soot can be inhaled and reach deep into the lungs. These tiny particulates can enter the circulatory system and damage blood vessels. Particulate pollution is associated with heart attacks, irregular heartbeat, asthma attacks, reduced lung function and bronchitis. I urge you to adopt this proposed regulation in the interest of public health and better air quality overall. Thank you. |
