Comment
I am a life-long resident and farmer in the Imperial County. I
have children and grandchildren who are also living here and
breathing the same air that I have breathed all my life without any
harm.

I would encourage you to approve the Imperial County PM10 State
Implementation Plan.

This plan is the result of a cooperative effort between
agricultural organizations, business coalitiions, community,
military and academic groups, the California Highway Patrol, and
local, state and federal air quality agencies representatives.

This plan confirms the agricultural community's interest in
supporting measures such as Regulation VIII Fugitive Dust rules in
order to reduce PM10 levels in Imperial County.

The records show that, since 2006, the only instances when the
county exceeded PM10 limits were days when either we have had very
high winds(we are living in a desert) or that there was PM10
carryover from Mexico.

We have all attempted to work closely with the Imperial County Air
Pollution Control District to continue to improve air quality in
the County. We feel the State Implementation Plan is an important
part of this cooperative effort.

Again, I would encourage you to approve the Imperial County PM10
State Implementation Plan.

                           Sincerely,

                           James D. Walker
