I would like to express my vote for increasing regulations on
diesel vehicles.  I remember reading about how manufacturers were
tuning diesel engines to make them run leaner, thereby saving fuel
for the owner, but unfortunately this was causing an increase in
smog output.  That is just wrong.  We all are becoming more aware
of how unhealthy the fine particulate matter that is output from
diesel engines is to our health.  We should be trying to clean up
the air, and the earth in general for that matter, in every way
possible.  Let's move forward in making the air cleaner by
increasing the requirements and testing of on-road diesel vehicles.
