RE:   Proposed Statewide Truck and Bus Regulation

Dear Chairwoman Nichols and Board Members:

I am writing to urge you to adopt the Diesel Truck Rule because
these issues impact me as a community resident of Pacoima, CA. 

I live nearby a commercial center which receives diesel trucks
throughout the day, and on many occasions, they have the engine
running for long periods of time, if not all of the time.
Therefore, my neighbors and I are exposed 24 hours a day to the
diesel exposure and run the risk of developing respiratory
illnesses or having an asthma attack.  

I am impacted by my living situation, because I have the
experience of having my niece and grandson diagnosed with asthma at
a very early age. I also see the children of others diagnosed with
asthma. Lastly, I am also impacted by seeing my adult neighbors
being taken to the emergency room because of asthma attacks. 

I therefore, would urge you to vote in favor of the Diesel Truck
Rule.
