Dear Honorable Chairman Nichols & ARB Board members,

My name is Maria Becerra. I am a resident of the city of Commerce,
CA. As you all know, my community is heavily impacted by deadly
diesel pollution, which comes both from the rail yards in my city
and from the huge amount of trucks on the roads. 

Today, I urge you to pass the In-Use On-Road Diesel Vehicle
Regulation for the following reasons:

As a mother, I do not want my three children to be one of the
71,000 cases of asthma caused by diesel pollution.

Currently, the schools my children attend and the parks in which
they play are surrounded by diesel pollution from trucks. Next
year, my daughter will be taking a bus to school, and I want that
bus to be the cleanest it can be.

First and foremost, I am a mother. I am also a daughter, a sister
and a friend. Today, I ask that you think about your daughters,
your mothers, your friends and their health. Vote Yes on this
regulation to move forward in cleaning our air and making all our
lives a little safer.
